Tom Cuffari

Tom Cuffari, pianist and choir director is known for bringing his passion to every performance and has enjoyed a career in classical music and musical theater.

He has performed numerous solo, chamber and concerto performances and is a highly sought-after collaborative pianist.

Musical Theater performances include the Broadway productions of Fiddler on the Roof and An American in Paris, the first national tour of Nice Work If You Can Get It.

As a choir director he has prepared choruses for Pete Townshend’s Classic Quadrophenia at the Metropolitan Opera House , for Josh Groban on tour and his Big Show at Radio City Music Hall, GMA and the Tonight Show, 30 Seconds from Mars, Sarah Brightman, Cage the Elephant and others, and he contracted and prepared choruses for the National Tour of “Star Wars – In Concert.” He also prepared the chorus for JOSH GROBAN BRIDGES: IN CONCERT FROM MADISON SQUARE GARDEN is part of special programming premiering on PBS and released on DVD in March 2019.

Tom has been on the faculty of the Festival Choir at the Idyllwild Summer Arts Program in California for the past 12 summers where they have performed Handel’s Messiah, Durufle Requiem, Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna, Bach’s Magnificat, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, and Dona Nobis Pacem by Vaughan Williams at L.A.’s Disney Concert Hall. 

Tom is on the Choir Faculty at Sacred Heart University and Director of Music at the United Congregational Church of Bridgeport. He is pleased to be a part of the panel for the Viva Music International Competition of Classical Music.
